/>Well, it looks like your going to need a new batch of pups. Gus is growing by leaps and bounds, literally. He is getting so big, and is making his way around the neighborhood. As you can see by the photos he is very at home and comfortable. His school (me) starts on Saturday with Sit. He is now kennel trained and is ok with the leash. He's really a great pup. Enjoy the photos.

-Steve

Hi Dan & Kelly-

First, feel free to have the lady contact me in regard to Parker. I was very close to taking him home myself. You have done a great job on your Springers. Gus is well-adjusted, confident, cocky, and very handsome. The ride home last Saturday was actually quite uneventful. He cried for about 15 minutes and I stopped and had Ann move to the back seat with Sara. Ann's really good with baby dogs and he calmed down. Half way home he started to fuss again so we let him out to go potty and that did the trick. At approximately 5pm he started to fuss again so we stopped at a park and fed him. Wow, does he like his food! One more stop for potty and we arrived home. The first night was relatively easy. He slept in a wash basket by my bed and I just stroked him until he fell asleep. He slept all night. Wow- was that easy. He now sleeps in a kennel beside the bed and settles right in each night. No fuss. Like I said, you did a great job. We have had only a couple of "accidents" on the floor. Most of the time he will go to the door and whine to go out. He's getting the idea. This week we spent our time socializing with the locals. He went to the bank and met all the tellers. If only I could get that kind of attention. Man- if I were single I'd have more dates than I could handle. As they say- He's a regular "babe magnet". We then went to the pharmacy, the feed store, and finally to the vet clinic. My last Springer always quivered with nerves when we went to the vet's. I wanted him to meet the folks there without poking and prodding so it would become a friendly place. I just had them give him treats. He left happy. Has his first appt. next Thursday. He has adjusted very well and is obviously very happy. He greets the family members and friends with enthusiasm, has a great appetite, sleeps soundly, and plays hard. He is really enjoying exploring the yard. He's is growing fast and now weighs 10lbs. He's really a "chunk". We truly enjoy him and laugh all the time. He'll be running the woods for Pats next October. He's going to love it. We sent some photos and will continue to do so as time goes on. Dan and Kelly, thankyou again so much for allowing us the opportunity to adopt such a fine young Springer. We will continue to be in touch.

Love my Springer- Steve and Ann

Puppy Updates

As new pictures and stories start to arrive, I felt it would be nice to post them for everyone to share! Aren't they gorgeous?

Here's what their new family has to say:

Dan and Kelly,

Here is a recent picture of Roxie and Lexie. Don't pay attention to the expression on Lexie's face she just woke up. She really enjoys Roxie's company and is acting like her mother.

Roxie has changed so much in the past two weeks she has gained weight (doesn't have any problem eating lol) Her spots are starting to show more on her nose. She enjoys showing off those sharp baby teeth by pulling Lexies ears to the floor. Wasn't to excited about the snow the first time she went outside, however soon after a few more trips we had to remind her to come back in the house.

Having a great time with our new addition to the family. Kids have us SKYPE them so they can see her live on the video. They can't wait till break to see her again.

We will try to get some more pictures and send soon.

Take care

Bob and Cindy

10 Little Springers

Friday night, master and I were hanging out listening to a local football game and as usual we fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up, master had left the room. There was quite a commotion coming from the den a/k/a "the maternity ward". It seems my darling Nittany decided it was time for the birth of our latest litter. To make a loooooonnnnnng story short, 5 1/2 hours later I became the proud Papa of 10, yes you heard me 10 pups. The official count: 7 males, 3 females. All little darlins if I do say so myself. Here are a couple of pictures of the new brood, and one of my lovely Nittany being hand fed because she refuses to leave the maternity ward except to go potty........ As you can see, I am no where in sight. It's not that I wouldn't do some of the diaper changing myself, but Nit prefers to have it done right.

As of today, the 3 females are spoken for. However, my handsome little sons are available.

There are 3 liver/white, and 4 black/white. Master Mom will be happy to forward individual pictures upon request. By-the-way, I've named them Sir Harvey, Mr. Webster, Mighty Quinn, Maxwell, O'Malley, Spunkie, and Parker.

The Hammons & Oliver

Oliver's parents are Nittany and Gunner

Another Family Photo

The Dempsey family sent us this picture of their four gentlemen! Her birthday was November 18th. Isn't she a doll? I'm also including a letter the Masters received from her new forever family. Thanks to Jason and Tina for the picture update, and the wonderful note.

Just want to pass along some news about Bella. Her 1st birthday was this week and Tina and I have loved spending this time with her. She has learned all sorts of tricks and I have taken her bird hunting where she responds to hand commands. My family all have springers and of them all, Bella is the best temperament and in the best physical shape. In fact, my mother loves to steel her because Bella is so loving. I could not have asked for a better dog. She does get into things when my wife and I are gone. I find the front door mat at the back door and the back door mat in the bathroom. She removes the door stops from the doors and places one of my wife's slippers on the bed and the other on the front stair. She is rotten I don't know if you remember but we also have a labadoddle. She is a very laid-back, slow moving, easy-going dog. Since bringing Bella home and even more so since Bella has gotten older, Maddie and bella wrestle all over the house. I just wanted to say thankyou again

Upcoming Holidays

Well, the Holidays are right around the corner. Master Mom and Master Dad have been busy getting things in order for Company to arrive next week for Thanksgiving. Sounds like we are all going to have a rip-roaring good time around the old homestead. Lots of family, friends, and of course turkey with all the fixins. We four Springers just love to have a house full. That means lots of attention for each and everyone of us.

Little Samie is growing like a weed, and loves to speak her mind. She gives the masters quite a bit of sass back. She just loves to growl and act real tough. This morning when Mama took us out for our little morning run, there was about 2 inches of snow on the ground. Of course, me, Tilley, and Nittany have already had the pleasure of romping in the snow. You should have seen the little one. She ran around like a nut case. The rest of us had a hard time doing our morning business because just as soon as we found the perfect spot, out of nowhere, Sami would pounce. That would mean we would have to start the hunt all over again. It was crazy.

It seems all four of our babies have found new homes. Won't the new families be having an awesome Christmas this year with a new puppy in the house. I'll have Mom try posting a couple of videos of them before they all leave us. It's always a little tearful as each one goes to live with their new forever families.

Talk to you all later........The General a/k/a Boiler

Testimonies

Thought I might post a couple of emails from families of previous litters. Enjoy.

Good morning,

I just wanted to take a few minutes to give you our Springer update. Zoe is doing very well. She is a great all-around dog. On the hunting side of things, I have had her out hunting twice already this Fall. She was awesome. She has a great nose and she is very bold going into thick cover. She flushed four of the eight birds we put up last Sunday (the other dog, a Brittney pointed the other four). She found all of my downed birds, and did two really nice retrieves for me. The other hunters with me were very surprised that a dog not even a year old was doing as well as she was. The first attached picture is my “victory” picture with Zoe and her 1st pheasant.

At home Zoe is a very loving, tolerant dog. She loves to try to get our lazy old Bassett Hound to play, she spends her days playing with the kids and chasing birds and squirrels off of our (really her) yard. She spends her evenings constantly following us around, lying near us, or on someone’s bed. We certainly enjoy our little Springer.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Ken

Ken Chrzan
Vice President
Derby Industries

Dan & Kelly,

I have been keeping track of Tilley and her forth coming litter. I went to the blog and noticed Mya's sister Zoe was on board. She sure does look like Mya and I agree they both look like their papa. Mya is a real busy girl but very lovable, friendly and obedient. She enjoys running around the yard with her "bucket", big sticks, and fetching tennis balls as well as taking walks and chasing the cats around the house. I can't believe it has been almost a year. I still have to remind myself she has not even experienced leaves falling til now and I hope she remembers the snow. It is hard to get her in the house because she loves the outdoors. Here are a couple of recen t pictures with the kids. I will be watching the blog to check for her siblings. Keep in touch. Best wishes for you and Tilley.

The Schura'sLiz, Mike, Kyle & Katie

Kelly and Dan,

Happy Halloween! She delivered on October 22nd, and I think I heard Master Mom saying that they would be ready to meet their new forever families by December 13th. Sounds like they might make great stocking stuffers. :) Once again, I am out numbered as she delivered only girls this time around. Good grief. Master Mom says they are absolutely adorable, but then she is biased I'm sure, and to make matters worse all 4 of them look just like their Mommy. All are liver/white/tri's. Oh well, maybe next time. lol

We had company for an overnighter on Tuesday. One of my sons, Scooby Doo from my very first litter came to visit me and brought his family with him. Lexie, Rachel, and Mom Theresa came along too. We had an awesome time hanging out. You know, the Father and Son thing. Master Dad took all of us down to the field to let us run off some of our bound up energy with all the excitement of company and puppies being delivered. I showed him a few of my springing techniques, and even scared up a couple of rabbits for us to chase. Scooby is a chip off the old block. I'm just glad he was there to cheer me up when I found out all the little darlings were girls. It was a crazy 24 hours for sure.

I like posting pictures of my children, especially the ones that look like me. So here's another one from Tilley's and my last years litter. Her name is Mya, and by looking at the one picture, it appears she can spring pretty high too! This is Zoe from our litter last year. Isn't she a beauty. Looks like she has the best of both worlds for sure. Personally, I think she looks an aweful lot like her Daddy, but then Mommy Tilley would probably argue that point. Isn't that how it always is? Tilley is due this weekend, and everyone around the old homestead is getting prepared for the delivery. The birthing room is all set to go, and believe you me, Tilley is getting the lions share of the attention. I guess I had nothing to do with this? Hope you enjoy the pictures, and you will be hearing from me just as soon as those babies arrive. We "four" springers have been having the time of our lives. This past Saturday, we had a big swimmin hole bash. Two of Nit's pups from previous litters stopped by with their Springer families. An awesome time was had by all. At one point, we had a total of 6 Springers, and 15 humans hanging out around the pool.

Nittany, Tilley, Samantha (Sammi), Oliver (Olli), Zibby, and of course me The General (Boiler) were taking turns jumping in the pool. Nittany loves to retrieve. Tilley is a real lady, and wades in ever so slowly down the steps, but in her defense she is expecting the middle of October. Sammi is too little to really jump in, so Master Mom lifts her in, and let's her swim to the steps. Olli and Zibby were guests, so they were a little hesitant at first, but did take a few dips with a lot of coaxing. Me on the other hand, I can jump in and swim to the steps all day long. One right after the other. I know it won't be long before the swimmin hole is covered for the long cold days of winter.

Last night we really got a surprise. Mom and Dad took us to this secret place where we had never been before. We rode in the back of the pickup with much anticipation. We all knew something was up when we didn't turn towards the fields, but instead headed out to the main road. It seemed like it took forever, but Master Dad finally rolled the truck to a stop. I don't remember when I've seen a more beautiful place. As soon as the back tailgate dropped to free us, we were off like a shot. You see, it was a wooded area with a river stream running right through it. Even little Sammi was able to swim the current. We frolicked and swam and explored. I could tell the Masters were really getting a kick out of watching all of us enjoy ourselves so much. Before long, we were loaded up for the ride home, and a nice relaxing evening just hanging out and drying off. It's a dog's life for sure!

New Baby Girl

Well, just when I'd thought I'd seen it all. The masters brought home another little one. Looks like I've got another girl friend. She has a bit of growing up to do, but she is going to be a real looker. Sometimes I think they are trying to kill me. Just kidding. My girls and I have the "life of riley" around here. Lots of love and attention. Master Mom refers to us as her "kids". She wasn't kidding when she said she was going to fill her empty nest with Springers. I thought she had her "brains tied" when they brought home my sweetheart Tilley. It seems the surgery must have reversed itself. Master Dad told her she was going back in to have it fixed. It's a crazy time in our home. I'm just glad I'm the only guy if you know what I mean.

HAVE A GREAT LABOR DAY WEEKEND....I plan on doing some swimming before they put the lid on the new swimmin hole.

Our New Swimming Hole

Well, it's finally here. Our new swimming hole. I'll have Master Mom post a couple of pictures with my next post.

Yesterday was our first opportunity to jump in. It was truly amazing. The old "swimmin hole" had these ladders we had to use to get out of the pool once we jumped in. Well this one has a real nice set of steps. This does not mean I can't jump, or just I say dive in, but getting out is much easier on my legs which allows me more energy for jumping and diving. Yippee. I'm hoping I can get Mom to take some videos of me. I love to show off my stuff.

Guess what? Me and my girl Tilley are going to have another litter of puppies. Yep, Master Dan and Master Kelly finally gave in. I heard them talking, and the little sweethearts should arrive sometime the middle of October. They will make wonderful new family additions just in time for the Christmas Holiday. Nothing like a brand new English Springer puppy to help unwrap your Christmas gifts...lol, or maybe to give ole Santa some real good puppy kisses.

This is a short one today. The weather here in Northern Indiana has been great. We need rain, but then I won't get to run through the sprinkler near as much.

Gotta go check out the swimmin hole, as there isn't much time left this season to enjoy.

Later,

The General and his girls, Nittany & Tilley.

The Polecat.

I am now under "lock down".Yes, it's true. Yesterday while on our early morning run, it appears I did something extremely stupid. Never in my wildest dreams could I have ever imagined something so beautiful could produce such a nostril burning scent. WOW is all I can say.

As soon as the tailgate in the pickup truck opened up, I hit the ground running on all four paws just as fast as my legs could carry me. Of course, I prefer to be the leader of the pack when it comes to exploring the fields. I wouldn't want one of my lovely ladies to show me up, and find something special before me. Guess what? I'm not sure I will have this same attitude on future adventures. I heard Master Dan give a holler for me to come right back, but my ears weren't up to par that early in the morning, or maybe the truth is, I just plain ignored him. Whatever the case, I ended up nose to nose with this black and white creature. I thought it was just another critter out on it's morning run too. I must have came up on it too fast, because all of a sudden the right side of my face was hit with the foulest smelling substance I have ever encountered. I tried my darndest to remove it by rubbing it furiously on the ground, but to no avail. I immediately decided I'd better return to my girls, and Master Dan who happened to be standing there with this odd look on his face. It wasn't really a happy-to-see-you look either.

The morning run came to an abrupt halt. We were loaded back up into the pickup, and promptly returned home. The girls weren't acting like themselves. They usually like to stick real close to me, but I'm not sure if they were mad because their run was cut short, or because I stunk to high heaven. Either way, it was the beginning of a horrible day.

I overheard Master Dan on the phone with Master Mom saying something about one of us tangled with a skunk. Ummmm? There is a first time for everything, and hopefully I have learned my lesson. I spent the rest of the day in my kennel under the Maple tree in the front yard. At least they didn't lock me away in some dungeon. As soon as Master Mom got home from work, I found myself in the bathtub. She sprayed this lemon stuff all over me, and used some really good smelling soap. I don't think I've ever been scrubbed so figurously. I thought my fur was going to fall out. Then she took some scissors, and cut some of my hair. My wonderful nighttime ritual of sleeping in this wonderfully comfortable bed has turned into a real life nightmare. I've been banned to my kennel inside the garage. As you can see by the picture above, I am allowed vistors, and I do have a room with a view.

Does anybody know how long I will have to live like this?

Signed,

The General a/k/a Boiler

Dog Days of August

Six months! I've finally been able to persuade Master Mom to sit down for a couple of seconds to update everyone and anyone who cares. Since my last post in February, Nittany delivered 5 girls and 3 boys on April 19th. She was a real trooper. Of course the masters were right by her side until all eight were delivered safe and sound.

By the first week of June, all the little bundles of joy were off to their new forever homes. Once again, all were blessed to have found wonderful homes with awesome families to love, cherish and nurture them. Master Mom told me to say a special thank you to all of those who have chosen one of our babies! THANK YOU!

Spring and Summer have been lots of fun. Master Dad started a new routine, and me and my girls absolutely love it! Every morning right after Master Mom takes off for work, he loads us up in the back of the pickup truck and takes us down to the railroad tracks. This allows us to run off some of the energy we've stored up throughout the night, and to do our a.m. business some place other than the back yard. We come home, eat a little breakfast and take a nice long nap.

It appeared that our long lazy summer days of lounging around the pool were going to be over. Master Dad started filling it in! I was devastated to say the least. This all started in late March, and by the first of June he was well on his way to having the deep end half way filled. Well, all of a sudden, the fill-in process stopped! It appeared my prayers had been answered. Some guys came out and were taking measurements of it. It seemed as if something big was going to happen. I heard some of the conversations, and if all goes according to plan, I'll be jumping in with all four feet by middle of August. Exciting, but a long way off.

In-the-mean time, one Saturday afternoon, the Masters came home with a big box. I watched with much anticipation as they cut open the box, pulled out this big blue circle, and started filling it with water. Wow, before I knew it we had another swimming hole on the patio. This one didn't compare in size to the old one, but at least it was a body of water for me to jump into! I went a little overboard the other day, and was reprimanded sternly and told to stay out for awhile. Oh well, I'm a Springer after all, and we do love the water.

Last night we were took a ride with Mom and Dad to a lake. Wow, talk about a blast. Even the girls joined me in a late evening swim. We were plumb tuckered out. It's been a great summer so far, but there is still a lot of sunshine to soak up between now and the gray days of winter.

Take care,

The General

Where's Spring

Hello everyone! It seems to be an extremely long winter. I'm beginning to wonder if the snow will ever disappear! Me and the girls miss our long walks/runs with the folks.

It's basketball season, and Master Dad is really busy coaching his seventh grade girls. I'm glad he's home with us during the day, because by-the-time he gets home to Mom and us in the evening, he's plumb tuckered out! Seems those girls are really something! I'm always evesdropping on their conversations.

I'm going CRAZY! Ms Nittany is having her time again, and the masters have decided to let her date another man! Twice this week, they have loaded her up in the truck and taken her off to spend time with someone else! When she gets back, she's so tired and hungry, she doesn't even give me a second glance. Lord help me keep my sanity. Truth be known, she would probably have a little time for me, but the masters aren't hearing my cries for mercy this time. Unbelievable what they put me through.

Oh well, it sounds as if she is going to have some awesome pups with this old man Gunner. He lives in Nappanee on a real nice farm. He must be really something, cause I hear Mom and Dad say some really nice things about him. As a matter of fact there's a picture posted of him on a previous blog. Enjoy, and I'll keep you all posted.

Hurtin so bad,

The General

Family Christmas Picture

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5141772455052038802" style="FLOAT: right; Their eyes are open now, and I can hear them growling and barking at each other in the nursery. I don't get to spend much time with them yet, but I'm looking forward to the day I can romp through the house with them nipping at my ???, well let's hope it's just my heels.

Mom's been busy wrapping Christmas gifts, trimming the tree, and taking care of the little ones. It's going to be quite a Christmas with all of the kids this year. I can just see them playing with the wrapping paper and the bows. I'm sure the the digital camera will get quite a work out!

Holiday's can be such a nostalgic time. I was just thinking it might be nice to post a couple of pictures of my inlaws. So here is a picture of Grandpa Gunner and Grandma Lady.

Happy Holidays!

The General

THEY'RE HERE!

Well, my sweetheart Tilley Jo delivered 7 beautiful puppies on November 18th. Five girls, and 2 boys. It figures, I'm out numbered again! Anyway, the color breakdown is 1-lvr/wht/tri male, 2-lvr/wht/tri females, 1-lvr/wht male, and 3-lvr/wht females. I've gotta say, they are probably the prettiest pups I've ever seen. But then I say that with each litter. Ha Ha.

The folks were tied up with her most of the weekend! In fact, I'm pretty sure they were up all night on Saturday just awaiting the arrival. Now is when I start pouting around quite a bit. My Tilley and those pups will be getting the lions share of the attention around here for the next 8 weeks! Good grief. I've been known to go on a hunger strike now and then, but it doesn't pay off. They continue to tempt me with treats and the like until I give in. Maybe I'll lift my leg on the sofa or something. Now that's bound to get some attention! My Nittany girl tried making a little spot on the new carpet. It worked for her, but I'm not sure that's the kind of attention I'm looking for! I guess I'd better think on it some more.

I heard my Mom say she was going to post some pictures of the bunch just as soon as she gets a free minute. I overheard her and Dad talking about a bunch of company coming over for Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll get a little turkey this week.

I'll keep you posted, and stay on Mom's case about posting those pictures. In the meantime, you can always email them @ dnkspringers@comcast.net. They love talking about the babies. I hope your Thanksgiving Holiday will be as special as ours.

Love "The General" a/k/a Boiler

Isn't She Lovely

My girl Nittany. It's November, and I just realized how long it's been since I last updated our blog! Holy Cow!

Anyway, I'm gonna do my doggone best to remember all the happenings since July. Yea right. I can tell you this. Summer was great. Spent an awful lot of time in the ole' swimmin hole. Along with that, however, came a few ear infections. That's right, I love the water. I jumped in the pool every chance I got. It kept me in shape for the girls. They just love a buff guy. Of course, my girls, Nitt and Tills love the water too, but they are a little more laid back than I am when it comes to diving in. It turned out to be a wonderful summer. Lots of sunny days just lounging in the back yard, chasing chipmunks and squirrels, taking runs down at the fields with Mom and Dad, and strutting my stuff for the ladies. Well let me tell you something, it paid off!

Yep, my girl Tilley Jo is due in about two weeks. It wasn't easy though. See Mom and Dad went on vacation in September. I heard Mom telling Dad that it would probably be best if they sent one of us to our favorite vets for the week. Well Dad wouldn't here of it, so we all three of us got to stay home, and our neighbor Lindsay took care of us. She's great! She did just what she was told. Keep me and my Tilley girl apart! Well, little did she know, I can climb the fence. It took a little doing on my part, but I overcame that small, but tall obstacle, and found my Tilley just waiting for me on the other side. I heard Lindsay give a shriek when she returned to let us in the house. Made a frantic call to the folks to let them know what had happened. Too late. The rest is history, and the little folks will be welcomed with much love as always real soon!

I'll be sending out a birth announcement including pictures just as soon as Mom gets them to me. Keep checking!

Luv,

The General

Time Flies!

Hello everyone. It's the "General", a/k/a Boiler. Once again, too much time has passed since my last post. We three Springers have been having a wonderful summer. The last of my gal Tilley's pups left for their forever homes right after the 4th of July. Up until that time, our days were filled with keeping up with the little darlings.

The masters have been taking me and my two girls down to the fields to run almost everyday. Master Dad tries to take us out right after breakfast. I think I've finally figured out why. First of all, it's cooler, second is that the three of us usually do our business down there, and it's three less piles that have to be scooped up out of the backyard, and thirdly, we are all ready for a long nap, and Master Dad can get some work done!

Sometimes in the evening, when Master Mommy comes home from work, we all go swimming! Me and Nittany really love that, and take turns diving in. Nittany even likes to float on the mattress with Mom. I prefer to get a running start! I gallop like a madman around the deep end, leap almost clean across the shallow end, climb out at the ladder and repeat the process until I and the masters lose count. Tilley doesn't like to dive, so she gets lifted in. She's so pampered!

I'm in quantine right now. It seems my Lady Nittany is in heat again. I do my best to talk the masters into letting me spend some time with her, but to no avail! I'm basically depressed, refuse to eat, and climb up on their laps while I cry and whine like a baby. Nothing is working this time around! The way I understand it, she gets to relax until Spring time. Go figure! What about me! They could have at least shipped me off to some deserted island for three weeks! Somebody help me PLEEEASE! Just to let you know how stressful it is, Master Dad and me took a trip to visit Grandma this week. I broke my fast, and ate some of her cookies.

I heard something about Tilley's turn being right around the corner? Does this mean another three weeks of sheer agony? If I survive these next few weeks without a nervous breakdown, I'll write another post. If not, consider this my last.

Going Out of My Mind,

The "General" a/k/a Boiler

The Squirrels

Good Morning from Northern Indiana. It's a beautiful late Spring day. The sun is shining and there isn't a cloud in the sky. The masters have been doing quite a bit of yard work. It seems they are constantly attempting to "Springer proof" the back yard. Oh we have plenty of room to romp and play, but every day I'm released for recess, something has been moved or put in my regular path to the back fence. I am constantly being redirected from my usual route! You see, I like to make a b-line to the back where I know the squirrels are hanging out. They love to tantilize me. It drives me and the girls crazy. Just when we think we have the quickest route mapped out, a new plant or rock have been strategically placed in the path?? This takes additional seconds off our time, and causes us to consistently miss capturing one of those little varmits! Well, the masters are always saying, "Look at the bright side", at least we are able to keep up with our agility training!

Spring Has Sprung!

                                     Master Mom and Nittany's Pups

Time flies! The little darlings have just passed their six week old mark and are zooming in, out and around everything! I haven't had the privilege of spending too much time with them, but that's okay with me. When I am allowed in the front yard to play, it isn't the most pleasant experience! I swear they have razors for teeth. They like to jump up and try to bite my stomach. Well if you're a boy dog, you know that can be pretty painful if they miss and strike just below the belt line. Good grief! I'm content hanging out back with Nittany. I'm glad to have her back in my life. It's lonesome when she's not around, but now my Tilley girl has been taken away from me.

The masters were up all night Saturday awaiting another delivery! My Lady Tilley gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies on Mother's Day morning. How appropriate! She had 4 boys and only 1 girl, but Master Dad and Master Mom were very excited because the girl and one of the boys are lvr/wht/tri's!? Whatever that means. Sounds good anyway! The other three males look just like me, handsome little buggers!

Well, I've been trying to get Master Mom to write sooner, but it's really hard to track her down lately. Go figure! Hopefully she won't wait so long in between my posts. I can communicate with her, but I can't type!

LITTLE DARLINGS!

Oh my goodness! Things are really hoppin around here. I haven't been allowed to get a real good look at the seven angels, but it shouldn't be too long now. I can't believe they are 2 weeks old already. We have an occasional visitor, but it seems they are more interested in seeing the puppies than they are me and Tilley. It's a real bummer. I get all excited and try to attract their attention, but to no avail. Oh well, my time will come this summer when I'm able to jump in the ole swimmin hole, and do some of my fancy springing through the tulips in the back yard. All of the little girls have been sold, which leaves 3 boys. That's okay, cause I'm a little out numbered around here. I could use some pals to do some leg lifting with me, if you know what I mean.

The sun is shining here, and I overheard Master Dad say he was going to take me and Tilley on an afternoon run. I'm out-of-breath just thinking about it. Master Mom has been spending quite a bit of her time in the kitchen. Every once in awhile, she starts spreading stuff on the kitchen walls. It's colorful, but leaves the house full of fumes for a couple of days. My sinuses are killing me. Yesterday, she was giving the puppies their first dose of worm medication. Well wouldn't you know it, the whole darn bunch of us had to take that stuff. They tried to put it in a bowl of Frosted Flakes, but I wasn't fooled. It tastes nasty. The girls ate all of theirs, but I guess they'll have to come up with something a little better than a bowl of cereal to fool me!

Stay tuned for more Springer stories coming soon.....

THE ARRIVAL!

They arrived! Seven of the little darlings. The first one was delivered about 4:00 p.m. and the last at 10:45 p.m. Once the Queen started delivering, she was wisked away to her private quarters in Master Dad's office. Of course, Tilley and I are to be on our best behavior, and not demand too much attention until all puppies have arrived, been checked in and are resting comfortably. I only was able to see the first one, as Lady Nittany prefers to have her first one in the company of her two best buds, me and Tilley. She is a black/white, and a real looker. As I remained in the family room, I could overhear all the commotion with each new arrival. If my calculations are correct we have 3 blk/wht females, 1 lvr/wht female, 2 lvr/wht males, and 1 blk/wht male! I'm sure Master Mom will be proud to forward pictures to anyone interested in seeing the little blessings from heaven.

JUST A HANDSOME GUY!

Look at me. Yep, I finally talked Master Mom into taking a couple of decent pictures of me showing off. Handsome little guy aren't I? Well, it's a gorgeous early Spring Day here in Indiana. I'm looking forward to getting a nice run in this afternoon as soon as Mommy gets home from work. The ice has finally melted on the ole swimmin hole. The only problem is there's still a cover over the top of it! I'm looking forward to jumping in after a long day of soaking up some rays. I'll keep you posted as the arrival date nears for the bundle of joys. It's Friday, and everyone around here has been spending alot of time in front of this box. During the day it mostly stays black, but come late afternoon and evening, the thing comes alive. I've tried to watch it, but my neck gives out from moving my head back and forth. It appears there is some kind of ball being tossed around and around between humans. At some point, an attempt is made to launch it up into the air towards a basket of some sort. It's all too much for me and the girls, but the masters seem to get a really big kick out of it. I can hear them hooping and hollering about fouls, referees, and once in a while I hear those *&!%@!^ refs! Anyway, all I'm really interested in is getting my three squares a day, and my afternoon naps. This evening we all went on a 2-mile run. It was great!
Once we arrived home, I overheard the masters talking with the lady across the street regarding some recent breakins. I'm just hoping I don't have to put my guard dog face on anytime soon.
Tonight promises to be wall-to-wall basketball, which is the good news. The masters love their popcorn, and frankly, so do I. It's just crazy around here! Here it is March the 8th, and we still have snow on the ground, the old swimming hole is still iced over, and I've got a real bad case of "cabin fever". On the bright side of things, my other little lady, Tilley Jo is now in heat. So this upcoming weekend may prove to be exciting for me! That is if the Masters don't change their minds. I hear them talking every night about whether or not they want another litter of pups coming so close to the first one. Oh my gosh! I just realized that Nittany's puppies will be here in about 3 weeks! Time flies!

Nitt's on Weight Watchers

Oh Great! I can't wait for Spring so that I can get back to doing what I do best; "Springin"

Well, it's finally warming up here in the Great White North. All the snow is beginning to melt with the 30 deg days this week. Me and my gals have just been hanging around. Master Dad took us on a 2 mile run yesterday. We were plumb tuckered out! Slept the afternoon away, but were full of energy just in time to greet Mom. We just found out that my sweetheart, Nittany is expecting! The little guys and gals should be arriving sometime around the 1st of April. Just in time for Spring. That means she'll be napping more for the next couple of months. She tends to get a little moody too. Can hardly wait for the little buggers to arrive!

Things are looking up today! Our backyard is fenced in with a pool and has lots of plants to use as potty posts, or for pruning as we see fit! It's awfully cold here, so our outdoor time has been quite limited the past few days. This makes for some boring afternoons around the old homestead. On warmer days, our Dad takes us down to the field where we can run off some of our caged up energy. We're thankful he works out of our home which allows extra time for such things. We'll write more later so you can get to know each of us on an individual basis.
